"Narratives for social impact "
The 24th edition of Harvard's Social Enterprise Conference held on 4-5 March 2023 brought together top leaders, practitioners and students to engage in conversation, workshops and networking around this year's theme- "Narratives for social impact". The mission of SECON is to educate participants about the potential of social enterprises in solving the world’s most pressing problems and to inspire meaningful discussion around the key challenges within the field.
Marc Alain Boucicault, a One Young World Ambassador is the Co-Chair Marketing and Programming of The Social Enterprise Conference. Marc is currently a Mason Fellow pursuing a Master in Public Administration at Harvard Kennedy School and a social entrepreneur himself. He is a Haitian tech ecosystem builder and founder of Banj, Haiti’s largest coworking space and tech startup accelerator partner of Google, Stellar and Meta connecting various communities to promote innovation in Haiti and the Caribbean.
The conference concluded with a keynote speech from Kate Robertson, co-founder of One Young World. She spoke of the relevance of sustainable financing in social enterprises and the role of impact reporting as a tool for the same. Kate emphasized on her belief in the limitless possibilities a sense of shared humanity can create as well as the unique opportunity for social enterprises to join forces and drive global systemic change.
Post the conference, Kate engaged with the One Young World Ambassadors at Harvard to discuss the conference, futuristic views of young leaders and their resolve to make the world a better place.
